RESIDENTIAL SOLAR PV REBATE

The state of Connecticut offers a solar PV rebate of up to $5/watt for the first 5kW and $4.30 for the next 5kW. This rebate is available until 2009.

The rebate is based on performance. The better the solar PV system performs the higher the rebate amount. Do you have a good site for solar?

Determine the following performance factors

• Orientation - Face PV modules south.
• Shading - Design the system so the array will not be shaded by trees, dormers, chimneys, vents, buildings, etc.
• Pitch - Maximize the summer and winter sun with the perfect angle.

FEDERAL SOLAR TAX CREDIT

The Energy Policy Act of 2005 established a 30% tax credit of up to $2000 for installation of a solar PV system. The tax credit is valid through 2008.
